Sisko, the one and only
Baseless

2017 self portrait
Baseless

The launch of Star Trek: Discovery made me go into full-blown Trekkie mode. Asides from rewatching Star Trek, I got the irresistible urge to doll captain Benjamin Lafayette Sisko, my favourite Star Trek captain :) And of course I had to include Deep Space Nine and his baseball. I usually suck at getting the likeliness right, but I do like this doll. But then again, how could I not like something Sisko-related? XD

A 2017 self portrait I made to use as an av. One version with and one version without glasses, seeing as I can't be bothered to wear them all the time ever since I got them last year. I tried to keep this doll as accurate as possible, minus the ever present scratch wounds on my face (I want to pretend that there are at least some days that I don't have these little wounds). The background is the result of when I can't be bothered to make a more intricate one. I was unsure whether to keep it or not, but I think it has a certain charm?

Two little self portraits I made because the dolls I was working on were giving me too much trouble and I ended up wanting to doll something easy. And because I had just gotten a new, awesome apron, I decided to make a self portrait. I started with the one in the blue dress and then decided to make a less 'formally' dressed one as well. I own everything that is shown on these dolls. The dress is one of my favourite summer dresses and the shoes are one of my favourite pairs of shoes ^^ The cookies on the platter/tray are 'bokkenpootjes', which I baked during the weekend I started this doll. This doll isn't exactly accurate though: I never wear my hair loose when working with food and I don't wear nice dresses and shoes when I'm baking XD Hence the second doll which shows how I usually look when I'm at home. A pair of jeans, an old shirt and cardigan and a pair of downtrodden sandals that are at least 10 years old. I wear them all year round, even when there's a 20 cm layer of snow XD

A doll of myself wearing my pyjamas for a pyjama party challenge at Dollstalgia. I tried to keep it as accurate as possible. It's my favourite pair of pyjamas: the top says 'It's raining cats... and I love it' and the pants are covered with stylised depictions of cats' heads, polka dots and little hearts ^^ It's not really clear on the doll though, the tiny size wouldn't allow me to make it any clearer. Oh, and the doll is stealing one of the blankets lying on the couch. It tends to get cold in my bedroom (I'm perfectly fine with 14 degrees C, but anything below that is a bit cold), so any extra blanket is welcome. I actually won first place with this doll :D

Beach Party
My base.

TLC Member Collab
Base. Face-edit by me.

A doll for the sixties' beach movies inspired summer beach party at TLC. I've never seen a beach movie in my life, nor am I planning on doing so, but I looked up some pictures and this came out. I like the swimsuit (I would certainly love to own a similar one) and the hair. Originally it wasn't as poofy, but I decided to exagerate it a bit more. During the making of this doll, I discovered that I reall don't like shading large expanses of leg XD

A quick self-portrait for a member collab at TLC. I'm not used to working on such cartoony bases and I didn't want to edit it too much (the rules were a bit unclear), so that's why the (our) right leg looks a bit weird. Anyway, the hair is correct, the eye-colour is correct and I do have the freckles and the exact same dress and shoes (they look way cuter IRL: they even have little bows on them ^^). That line on the left leg is a scar, it's probably a temporary one, but I've had it for months, so I added it in.

Another portrait of Alina, aka of the two dolls below. She's kinda turning into a character of mine. I've decided that she isn't a very nice person, but puts on a charade of kindness instead. She's probably an upperclass lady too. Anyway, about the doll: I created this base especially based on this character, so I felt kinda obliged to doll her on it XD The whole doll did give me a lot of trouble. The first dress desings I had in mind just wouldn't work out, so at the end I came up with this. I like the corset and the hair. The jacket isn't very good, but I got stuck on it. I might remake it one day.

The portrait of the doll below. I wanted to make a realistic looking portrait of some glamour girl. It isn't much of a doll, but I do like the face and the lower parts of the hair.

My entry for the New Year's ball contest at DeviantArt. Surprisingly enough, I managed to win first place with this o_o I really had to rush this doll as the deadline for the contest was right after my exams and right before the deadline of the first draft of my bachelor paper. The doll itself isn't too bad, but I don't like the background at all. But at least it ties her up with the contest theme.

I made this doll to get my mind of RL and because I wanted to doll a formal dress again. This was also a realistic folds practise, though I'm not sure about how realistic they are XD She started off with short hair, but it made her look too young and girly, so I went with long hair again... It starts becoming a habit of mine. The red palette was suprisingly hard to make; I had forgotten how difficult red palettes can be.

Fall Contest

Holiday Lady
Baseless

A doll made for a fall fashion contest, in which I, to my surprise, actually got first place and a Daily Deviation on DeviantArt. I decided to doll on a base again because my previous two dolls (Luthien and Manwe) had taken months to finish. So I went for something easy which would take maybe a week to complete and this doll was born. Her outfit is actually a twisted version of clothes I own. And if the braid looks a bit weird to you, it's because it's a round four strand braid, which is one my favourite braids at the moment.

My holiday gift for 2009 (and the beginning of 2010 XD). It is here instead of the gift sections, as I decided that since Christmas is all about sharing and such (not that I celebrate Christmas, but it's the idea that counts...) it'd be nicer to have it adoptable for everyone and not just a few chosen people. If I had had the time, I would have made a gift for my sisters and friends alone, but Miss Doll Fantasy ate that time. I even had to rush this one >_< I'm afraid you can see that XD I do like the face, the top folds of her dress and the hair. The skin palette was a bit of an experiment with colour combinations I usually don't use.

Sofia
Base

An entry for a contest here. I'm not fond of her as she looks awkward and the shading on the back version is quite bad. I had managed to make the shading there completely not fit the palette I used for the front version (of which I do like the shading) >_< The bright green scarf/sash-thing is of that colour because the contest required to put in some bright colour and I liked the green, so my choice was quickly made. I do like the liveliness it gives to the design, though it's a bit bright for my taste XD Loved the hair on the back version, but it got a bit covered by the veil... oh well, the holder of the contest seemed to like her except for the fact that the skirt isn't poofy or princess-like ^^

My entry for round one of MWW. We had to doll our character casting a patronus spell and of course Sofia's patronus is an owl ^^ I left the owl sketchy because that's more what I picture a patronus like, more raw-looking instead of swirly and pretty and cute... I don't like her much, but she could have been worse. I like her robe, but her shirt is quite bad. I also didn't make the socks stark white as in the audition doll as that would ruin the entire effect of her being in some serious trouble.

Base

My entry for the auditions of Miss Wizarding World, a pageant that never was abandoned during the first round. I'm not a big Harry Potter fan, but I felt inspired to enter and came up with this Ravenclaw bibliophile. I had lots of fun designing her. Unfortunately the faces of the two dolls don't match enough.

The avatar version of the doll below. The hair was a pain to do, and I'm not to happy with it, but I wanted an avatar to use at Tre Chic, a dolling forum that is no longer online, so here it is. I like the full doll version a lot better, but meh.

Padme
Base

I dolled something modern? The world must be coming to an end... or not XD But it is incredibly rare that I doll something not fantasy-like, so yeah. I'm so proud of the dress o_o I used a reference picture and played a bit with colours (which isn't very noticeable, but never mind) and I love the results. This doll was made for a base edit contest at the site the base comes from. I took the name 'base edit contest' a bit literally and completely redrew the face, changed its angle because otherwise it just didn't seem right, and reshaded the rest of the base.

I wanted to try a difficult gradient, so I decided to doll this gown of Padme's. I'm quite happy with the outcome, the gradient looks pretty good and the shading isn't too bad. I like the face edit too, it was fun to make. Don't know though if I'll ever make such a gradient again, it takes a lot of time to finish one like that in Paint (yes, I made this doll and its palettes in MS Paint only, I happen to like messing around with colours and such).

Yearbook
Base

It's me and my bow! ^-^ Oh, how I love that thing, the pixelled version is pretty accurate. My hair isn't short, actually it's held up to prevent some shooting accidents. I think this is my best casual doll yet, certainly my best try at jeans. Which isn't very surprising, as I rarely doll jeans. Casual just isn't my thing.

My portrait for the yearbook at The Gathering I like it a lot, especially the background. I simply couldn't resist putting some mountains in ^-^ The rest of the doll is pretty nice too, I think. I loved editing the base. Oh and that necklace (which you can barely see) isn't a crucifix, but a sword.
